Overview of VeriCat.org

VeriCat is a free peer-to-peer Catholic Catechist collaboration/support platform out to discover/disseminate the best materials to an army of catechists and make catechesis exciting again! The bread and butter of VeriCat.org is our open source Database of Catechesis Material, which anyone can contribute home-made content to or use for free and leave useful ratings/reviews that will reveal content that is winning souls versus content that is not fruitful. All our catechesis material comes with an associated Verification File, which provides reasonable assurance of orthodoxy and helps students to become interested in reading primary church documents.  Please view our “Example Material” page.
The website is in beta testing. The present goals for the beta website are to:
-Build up the VeriCat community by registering users and using the Forum Area (public or private message new friends that share your passion for catechesis). Please register here.
-Raise awareness of the VeriCat project, find volunteers (please volunteer at this link), and seek modest donations.
We hypothesize that a yet unknown coal miner in West Virginia that moonlights as a catechist may have developed the best 15 minute explanation of the mystical body of Christ of all time, that an unpublished mother of 8 in Montana has the most engaging way to teach kids about the 7 deadly sins, that a random high schooler in Louisiana has an analogy comparing the latest fad to prayer that will engage their generation, etc. VeriCat’s Database of Catechesis Material provides the platform for such masterpieces to be shared with others efficiently.
Per the Need Analysis, we don’t believe anything quite like VeriCat exists. VeriCat will fill a critical need, bridging the gap between the often over-relied upon video presentations of professional catechists and the average untrained parish volunteer’s efforts to catechize.
We hope to have a more functional and aesthetically pleasing website in the future. For now, please have patience with the beta website and be so kind as to Report Bugs and Errors or email director@vericat.org with concerns.

Please review our financial plans and consider donating (even just $1/month helps)or becoming a volunteer (even only an hour a month helps).
